Confused with 30% Casino Certificate

I received the 30% certficate from Casino on my 8/21 cruise. I attempted to redeem yesterday morning. Before I call them or panic (never used one before), I thought I better ask you guys. I tried to search for answer, but nothing came up on how they actually worked.

I called casino yesterday. I had a guy with a really strong Italian accent, but I managed to understand to email the certificate, which I did. Asking more questions was just not working to well. I tried to get timeframe info, etc, but got "I can't really say" as an answer from what I could understand.

I received the email instructing me to only book and pay deposit, nothing else. I booked, added MSC Voyagers Club number, received that 5% discount, and paid my deposit.

I received a receipt in the email for deposit.

2 hours later, I received the booking confirmation with all the info, but the 5% was missing. I went online to my account, and say the 5% was missing, no casino deal added, so it jumped from $1561.00 to 1620.00.

Is this something the casino takes a couple days to take care of or do I need to call them now? Other cruise lines, I've called in and everything was done almost immediately.

We have used that certificate many times. I ALWAYS book through my favorite internet travel agent. They throw in free gratuities & OBC. THEN I call the casino department at MSC & give them the booking number,

They go in and adjust the 30%percent off the total.

Remember this does not apply to port charges & taxes.

Never had a problem. That is why I say the MSC casino club is the best at sea.

the other cruiselines make you book directly with them. That way you miss out on added perks from a travel agent.

So the price was immediate after you called the casino? I do have the 200OBC for booking for Labor Day. I'm not worried about using a travel agent, maybe one of these days I'll try. I just want to make sure, things aren't being lost in the shuffle. I have the prices figured without portfees, etc. My calculator matched with what was on the MSC page when I booked, than the 5% for Voyagers disappeared and no 30% figured in, so that seems like a problem.

Seems so much easier with a travel agent. Never had to 'email' the certificate.

I would say the price is adjusted within a week.

Well, just got off the phone. Apparently the first agent told me wrong. And my email went to never never land even though I replied to there's. The certificate # wasn't making sense to the agent just know, so she asked for an email # that I should have received when I sent it out yesterday. I had none. So I resent it again with the correct email. This time I got the auto reply with the #. So she got everything squared away, figured out the problem, tries to fix it and bam, the system is down, lol. I have to call back in an hour. All this should have been taken care of yesterday if I had an agent that knew the system. At least my questions are answered and thank you for your help. And hopefully it will be resolved when I call back.

Everything is now as it should be, with more to add to this. So my cruise on the Divina was 8/21-8/28. I received certificate on 8/27 with the 9 month to book and sail. Ok, that's easy. I chose 5/21. The one I first spoke to this morning thought the system was down and told me to call back in an hour. No big deal, so I agreed. This time another woman looked at my notes and certificate and tried to fix it, but it wouldn't take. She took another look at my certificate and mentioned the 9 months and that I should be fine. Guess what, it wasn't. We tried another booking for a week earlier 5/14/23 and it worked. So we had to cancel my 5/21 and move it to 5/14. All is well, that's a Mother's Day cruise. Just can't figure out how MSC figures 9 months, lol.

   I find them very accommodating.

We actually booked 1 month past the expiration date. Wanted a YC3 which would not have been affordable without the coupon.

That was the soonest date around the time we could go that one of those categories was available so they made the exception. There are only 2 of those on each ship.

That's great. This one that I was last talking with really went the extra mile to find out what was wrong and get it fixed for me. I just went for a balcony on deck 10. I gotta mind the budget since I'm cruising next month, and need to book something for the end of next summer.
