Pjran Posted September 8, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted September 8, 2022 Thanks for replying Omega1. I can’t find that anywhere including the tourist offices website. Can you remember where the bus stop is to catch the shuttle please?
edinburgher Posted September 9, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2022 (edited) Shuttle buses info is always tricky and the cruiselines often keep that info quiet until almost the last minute as they want their passenger to buy shorex. Shuttle bus stops are usually not "signposted " as such, but can be on occasion, although more often than not, those buses are close to the gangway beside shorex coaches, or only a few steps away. They will normally have signage on the windscreen/windshield indicating they are shuttle buses so as not to be confused with shorex coaches. Drop off point and return pick-up info, plus approximate timings is usually given by the cruiseline the day or evening before arrival, or to be found in the daily "newspaper", (the one which has port info, weather, ship arrival and departure times, entertainment, dining hours etc. usually delivered to your cabin the evening before). if it isthe cruiseline organising them, there may be a fee and you would usually buy your ticket onboard. If it is the port or the local town organising them, there may or may not be a fee and in this case you would usually pay the driver (or occasionally a local Tourist info desk at the port or terminal building) and be issued a ticket if it is a round trip one. If it is free of charge, sometimes, for security reasons you only need to show your cruise card to the driver for the return journey. And leaving the ship you only need to step onto the bus. If there is no timetable you may need to wait a time until the driver thinks there are enough people on board or until it is full. Always keep any ticket you are issued to show for the return journey. Edited September 9, 2022 by edinburgher
