pennib Posted September 29, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2022 Anyone know how this is going? Last Christmas on Azura it cost £500 for 4 weeks and did not work. We are on Britannia this Christmas. Has anyone booked internet in advance of boarding the ship? Any idea on cost?
Rare david63 Posted September 29, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2022 With the new Internet packages there is virtually no saving in buying in advance - on a 14 night cruise it was about £10 saving https://www.pocruises.com/frequently-asked-questions.life-on-board.Can-I-access-the-internet-on-board.summary

Red Leicester Posted September 30, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2022 Wifi on Britannia is working as I type, and assuming you read this then it posted. I only had issues on one day out of 13 when it struggled to connect. Left it a few moments and it worked. No real hardship, just slight annoyance. Rare david63 Posted September 30, 2022 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2022 I found that early morning and late evening were the best times for using the Internet on Britannia
pennib Posted September 30, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted September 30, 2022 Thanks for the information. I am just wondering which package to get. Basically, the main thing we need is to download our daily newspaper each day so do you think the essential plan would be OK or do I need the ultimate plan? Rare david63 Posted September 30, 2022 #7 Share Posted September 30, 2022 On the basis that you can upgrade the plan at anytime during the cruise then I would start with the lower priced one and then if it does not meet your needs upgrade - no point paying for something that you don't need. Red Leicester Posted September 30, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 30, 2022 I went for the basic package this time, having had streaming before, basic suited my needs this time. As pointed out above you can upgrade at £x which reduces each day. Our 14 days basic was £130 I think and bought on board with on board money. Though interestingly with two days to go I cannot seem to be able to upgrade to streaming now should I want to. The other thing I have found is our cruise got extended by 24 hours last year due to Storm Arwyn but the wifi didn't extend with it and we had to pay for one more day.
