Meraviglia buffet question

My DW and I will DW sailing Meraviglia on 11/17 - our first foray into MSC.

 

We often prefer to have dinner  at the buffet instead of the MDR.

We know on RCI, dinner in the buffet has at least some subset of what is being served in the MDR.

 

We also know that generally on Carnival they do not.

Can some tell which team MSC would be on this issue?

We will be on that sailing too. Our first MSC cruise as well.  We love MDR dining though.

Just back from Meraviglia.

I will answer my own question for those asking in the future.

 

they have a decent selection in the buffest at dinner time, but it is definitely NOT what is being serve din the MDR.

Thank you for sharing that.  My spouse and I cruise enough that we sometimes prefer the casual buffet over the formality and length of time needed for the MDR.   However, this time out we are traveling with our adult children (all 20-somethings) and they are all looking forward to the MDR (whoda thunk?)

just one more comment here. 

I am not sure if it was just because we had a table for 2 or just MSC culture, but the 2 nights we went ot the MDR, we were finished within an hour (much preferred for us). Service was fast and the food was hot.

Same here. We were on Meraviglia. There were lots of tables for two. Good quick service

Yep, that is MSC, short dinners. Suits me fine.

About the buffet, I did notice that the buffet would often offer some of the same desserts as the MDR offered the day before. Excellent way to reduce waste, and a great opportunity to enjoy something taste twice.
