Ine Posted March 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Weather in high summer can be realy nice. But since you probably sail to/from London or Amsterdam nothing it sure... So better dress in layers and be prepared for some rain. www.wunderground.com gives you all details.
Druke I Posted March 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2006 We've done the Baltic twice, although not on Celebrity. 1st time 5-99, on Norwegian Dream, and again 8-05, on Oceania's Regatta. Weatherwise, we layered clothing both times, as the Baltic is fairly far North. We found weather and temps very similar to British Columbia/Alaska. Beautiful part of the world, and enjoyable, but port intensive.

WeBeCruisin' Posted March 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2006 AT that time of year, you'll probably have highs in the upper 60s and 70s each day. We were there in late July/early August and it was in the 80s every day, but that was unusual. If you have sleep issues and are going to be in an outside cabin or balcony, you might want to bring a sleep mask, since it will still be daylight until 11:00 p.m. or later, and the sun will rise around 3:00 a.m. In an inside cabin, you won't have any problems because it's pitch dark 24-7. :) Even though we had a balcony and the weather was gorgeous, we didn't use it much because the cruise is very port intensive, and everytime I would want to use it, someone would be smoking a cigar, leaning over the rail wanting to chat, or playing loud music on their balcony. We're comfortable in insides, seldom using the room for more than to sleep and change clothes, and we sleep much more deeply in the dark room, so we regretted that we hadn't taken an inside cabin to have lots more money for the casino, excursions, and the Martini Bar. :) Allen,
phillipahain Posted March 5, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2006 A thin waterproof / windproof jacket of some kind plus layers will be what you need as the weather can vary from port to port and day to day but when we did it in June 2002 the weather was glorious you just never know
candr Posted March 6, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2006 We were on the Connie for the Baltic cruise last June and the weather was perfect even in London. We had sunshine and warm weather every day with highs in the upper 60's and 70's. Only two brief showers in Berlin and Oslo. This was unusual because it can be cooler and rainy, particularlarly in Russia. We brought a weatherproof jacket we could remove as the day warmed up. Also carried a mini umbrella in case of rain. A light sweater might also come in handy for cool mornings. The Baltic on the Connie is a fabulous trip - by far the best of the many cruises we have taken. You are in for a real treat. It is port intensive but what a great opportunity to see so much in a short time and travel at night while you sleep in pampered comfort. Don't miss the scenery for the three hours coming into and going out of Stockholm. Enjoy!
irishguy Posted March 6, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted March 6, 2006 We are really looking forward to this cruise as we've heard so much about this trip and the ship connie. We did our first cruise last August with celebrity on the millie med cruise, it was superb. At that time so many people recommended baltic cruise. Its perfect for as we live in Ireland so flight to london will be only a hour or so. Thanks to all for your help and advice.. Kind Regards Dave

VaTraveler Posted March 8, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 8, 2006 We did the Baltic cruise two years ago with RCI. It was hands down the best cruise I've taken. We went in July, and the weather was beautiful most of the time. The days we were on the ship were too cool for lying at the pool but comfortable otherwise. The only port days that we needed anything other than short sleeves were in Oslo and Copenhagen. I took one fleece jacket and one lighter weight, and used them on those two days. We had a balcony, and we never got any sleep because we kept seeing such neat things outside in the middle of the night, and we didn't want to miss anything. I would do that cruise again, but next time I would be better off with an inside cabin.:D
