mustwork2cruise Posted March 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Just wondering if that is the CONQUEST sitting there.... The date on the cam says Saturday. I know that there were some problems with the cam. Just wondering... On a side note: My sister left yesterday on the Grand Princess - She had to call me to let me know that her ship was bigger than the Carnival ship. I told her that we have more fun!!:p
MeLuvDaSea Posted March 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2006 It hasn't worked since Feb. 28th. I wish they would get it fixed!! Not being able to watch the ships come and go is killing me....
futaba951 Posted March 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2006 It works. You are probably using a cached bookmark. Go to the Galveston.com home page and follow the links. There's a problem with the links.
mustwork2cruise Posted March 5, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted March 5, 2006 So it is accurate today - even though the date is yesterday?
mrdood Posted March 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2006 So it is accurate today - even though the date is yesterday? ...and I hate to be the bearer of bad news for your sister, the Grand Princess size is 109,000 tons and the Conquest is 110,000 tons. While only 1,000 tons - legally, the Conquest is bigger...
futaba951 Posted March 5, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2006 That's Conquest sitting there and it's Sunday so the date on the cam must be wrong. The time is right though. They've had issues with that cam since Tuesday.
mustwork2cruise Posted March 5, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted March 5, 2006 I told her that - However yesterday, the Grand Princess was sitting next to the Elation. Not sure of the size of the Elation.

I miss not seeing the ships in port!;) Your right, just went to krooz-cam link & it's not correct. I always use Galveston.com link. It's working although the date is wrong. mummy Posted March 5, 2006 #15 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Your right, just went to krooz-cam link & it's not correct. I always use Galveston.com link. It's working although the date is wrong. Try this-- http://webcams.galveston.com/harborhouse2005/frameset.html The url has changed. The old url (displaying the picture from the 28th) was: http://www.galveston.com/webcams/harborhouse/frameset.html and the new one (displaying the picture dated Sat Mar 4) is: http://webcams.galveston.com/harborhouse2005/harborhousemp.jpg ("frameset.html" works too....only difference between the two I noticed was that one includes some descriptive text)
cardinalfan Posted March 5, 2006 #16 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think it is working again. It seems to be stuck.
mustwork2cruise Posted March 5, 2006 Author #17 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Seems to be working for me! Only 26 more Sundays for us!!
Lewdog Posted March 5, 2006 #18 Share Posted March 5, 2006 If you are using this: http://webcams.galveston.com/harborh...borhousemp.jpg that mummy posted it will not update. That is point to a single static image snapped by the webcam. You have to use: http://webcams.galveston.com/harborhouse2005/frameset.html to get the complete page containing the code needed to make the image update. Monkeys On Board Posted March 5, 2006 #19 Share Posted March 5, 2006 10 more Sundays! :D Is everyone planning on waiving to the webcam as they sail by?
Cruise Cat Posted March 5, 2006 #20 Share Posted March 5, 2006 The Cam is working, but the Time and Date stamp is not updating. The sun has moved and I watched a boat come out of the bottom of the screen and turn right to head out into the harbor. Also saw another craft move near the Conquest and then turn away. Cruise Cat Posted March 5, 2006 #21 Share Posted March 5, 2006 OK, the time stamp seems to be working but the date is still a day behind. We'll see if the Conquest leaves
travel girl23 Posted March 5, 2006 #22 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Yes, I can vouch that the Conquest is indeed in Galveston.;) We disembarked this morning at 6:30 (self assist) and were on our way home at 7 a.m. Will give a review soon. Fabulous cruise and fabulous weather. :D TG23

Cruise Cat Posted March 5, 2006 #25 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Supposed to leave at 4:00 PM. Confirmed on the Carnival Website. That is also when we are supposed to leave in August. Last year (December), they left at 6:00 pm.
