Littlegoo75 Posted May 24, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Yeah, I have narrowed to down to the Conquest on November 7th, the Legend on October 26th, or I might try Celebrity's Century on November 6th or Explorer of the Seas...... I'll see what the best deal is. November sure is a long time to wait, but I will not cruise during the summer, and then there's hurricane season...I think early November will be okay.... ??????????? kiberkid Posted May 24, 2004 #18 Share Posted May 24, 2004 crp7972 We will be arriving in Ft Laurderdale on Nov 26 & are actualy booked (my parents, my husband & myself) at 2 hotels. 1. Amerisuites. I booked thru Valutrips for $69.00 a night. 2. Sleep Inn for $63.00 a night thru Choice hotels web sight. I got the Seniors rate. Right now I am leaning towards keeping the Sleep Inn reservation & canceling the Amerisuites, but we still have lots of time to make up my mind. From what I can find out, both are close to restaurants & a Publix for a litte pre-cruise shopping. I look forward to meeting you!!!! Littlegoo75 Posted May 24, 2004 Author #19 Share Posted May 24, 2004 So, what do you all think about sailing in November? How is the weather ( on average ) the crowds ( excluding Thanksgiving time) amount of kiddies on board? Have you ever had hurricane problems that late in the season? I am also thinking of a late October cruise. There is a Legend Wester Caribbean that departs on October 26th - I always wanted to spend Halloween on a ship. Would I be taking a big risk going the end of October? I don't see what a difference a week would make. Tell me about your experiences sailing that time of year. ??????????? kiberkid Posted May 24, 2004 #20 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Our 1st cruise was the beginning of November & our 2nd cruise was in the middle of November. The ocean was like a mirror for both trips ....although the cruise that left right ours (middle of November cruise) had 20 ft swells. My brother in law did an eastern Caribbean cruise in February this year & the seas were very rough...but that did not stop them from having a great time. I believe it is just the luck of the draw.
