Because I don’t care to give them my money then. Apparently not. They hadn’t even heard of this section 8 as mentioned above. Very disheartening. Section 8 does nothing for you sitting in Bethlehem. That road trip you are missing in St. Lucia. I did that drive about 20 years ago and put it on my list of top three dangerous roads ever driven. Cannot remember the other two, but this one will never be forgotten.

They have been cruising to this area for many many years. The port operations and itinerary planning departments know these ports and to change after cancellation fees apply is really disappointing for the guests that now want to change their choice and cannot without penalty it seems. Not very customer friendly. If you paid with AMEX platinum, take it up with AMEX.
phillipahain Posted December 2, 2022 #28 Share Posted December 2, 2022 You need to read the contract carefully ....they tried to claim the major changes to Grand Pacific cruise did not allow cancellation ....section 8 in USA contracts even after final payment and 40/42 on UK contracts 1

Paid w AMEX Platinum but booked through a travel agent. I've already moved on and changed to a new cruise... the new cruise was actually cheaper so there was no additional cost, and they tried to tell my travel agent there would be a fee, but I haven't seen anything yet. I told my travel agent she can give them a choice between two options: 1. they don't charge me a fee and i'll continue to sail with them, or 2. they charge a change fee and this will be my last cruise with them. I am only 40 years old so I (hopefully) have a lot of sailings ahead of me... whether its on Seabourn or not.
