I understand it's an Australian requirement whilst in their waters and with ports of call coming up. It's really not a great problem, everyone is just resigned to it (and there have been some outbreaks of Covid, not a mega problem as such, but we personally know a couple of people who have succumbed. Such a shame) It’s an Australian requirement for ships on which >10% of people on board have Covid (passengers and crew combined). That’s not the case for Odyssey. Masks are required on Odyssey because Carnival decided to require masks on all its ships in Australian waters regardless of how many cases there are on board - as per their press release. Tuscany4 Posted December 4, 2022 #27 Share Posted December 4, 2022 We very much like Seabourn but have decided not to book another cruise until the whole mask/ quarantine/ testing fiasco is finished. We’ve just booked all our vacations for 2023 as land trips. I do hope at some point by 2024 governments and the cruise industry just accept covid as we do the flu and have no special restrictions in place. The U.K. now hardly ever mentions covid and all things here are back to normal. This is where we need to be. 3
