We loved the Harding Hotel on historic Fishamble Street.
Very well located, walkable to most everything and close to the airport bus connector.
It was reasonably priced, with basic accommodation, but a great pub with live music on the ground level. Much better than staying in the nearby touristy Temple Bar.

I’m not aware of your budget or style, but it’s hard to beat The Shelbourne.  It’s located on the famous St. Stephen’s Green (I.e. Park).  It’s a couple minute walk from the start of the Grafton Street pedestrian shopping avenue.  And probably a 10 minute walk to Trinity University/Book of Kells and the main tourist section.

Many thanks!   This has given me some good leads and I am looking forward to digging into these options.  From our own digging so far The Davenport seems to be a possibility as we have ruled out being in the Temple Bar area (we expect it might be too noisy for us as we are light sleepers).

Thx again!
