CruisinPashmina Posted December 12, 2022 #26 Share Posted December 12, 2022 I just looked at Fletcher’s photographs . They are outstanding. I have been to Stanley twice and both times we went into the town and walked the entire town. We had lunch in different pubs where the patrons were very friendly and chatty. We visited the grocery store and a general store where we bought hand knit sweaters …one with a penguin design which the recipient, a five year old grandchild, refused to take off. We attended a wedding at the Anglican Church , invited in by the bride’s father. Both visits were very special! I’d love to visit again.

The area is also home to numerous Gentoo and Magellanic penguins too. A veteran of the Falklands War, he’ll fill you in on all of the key sites as well. Yes we did this tour years ago - it is a long drive out in four wheel vehicles but was well worth it seeing the King Penguin colony. On a side note they were still clearing land mines from the war when we were there in 2011. Edited December 13, 2022 by chaunceyb 1
