Seems like San Juan is furthest East they go on closed loop cruises originating in FL. No St Thomas, No St Martin, No St Kitts, etc. These are islands other lines big ships visit. Seems they are in love with Nassau which is always a stop even though their Private island is within viewing distance. WhenI was on Allure of the Seas and we docked in St Maarten and St Kitts. It is very time effective. Also they do 7+7 day itenareries making a figure 8 loops around these islands which is a great idea. But as everything it has it pros and cons: these islands have limited number of flights. Some have flights only 3 days a week, making it risky if just one flight is cancelled they can't put the passangers on an alternative flight in time for a cruise. I think this shows they are still behind in the thinking of competing for US passengers. Flying in to those places from Europe probably isn't crazy different but when looking at from the Northern US its not even worth it unless the cruise was extremely less expensive with an amazing port selection. I had a hard time confirming my NCL Haven cruise in January and that goes from San Juan (a US port with quite a few flights from the US via Southwest/United/Delta) and was a crazy good price. Now something that would be of interest though would be if MSC did a 14 day with a 7 day one way almost like Alaska but in the Caribbean to hit a bunch of the Southern/Eastern islands. Just saying its great you got that list of ports but eliminate the 4-6 days of the TA and just sail that out of Miami.
