RCCL Explorer in News March 6

Recommended Posts

Our local florida news is reporting "more than 200 Royal Caribbean cruise passengers are back in Miami after getting sick aboard a seven-night excursion.

A statement from the company said 243 passengers and 19 crew members aboard Explorer of the Seas suffered from a gastrointestinal illness believed to be norovirus.

Company officials said a passenger apparently brought the virus on board.

The ship left Miami Feb. 26 and stopped in Belize, Mexico's Yucatan and the Cayman Islands. There were just over 3,250 passengers on board.

Those who had symptoms were isolated.

The cruise company said they will receive a 50 percent credit for a future cruise. "

I guess I could/should have tacked on the new information to one of the previous threads. I was just so interested in the fact that

“…The cruise company said they will receive a 50 percent credit for a future cruise. " I just didn’t recall such an offer from a cruiseline being publicized before and thought RCCL’s gesture should be relayed.
