Long Beach park and cruise hotels

We are cruising on the Miracle Jan. 8 and just received an email from Carnival that we have to park at the Convention Center instead of the pier for our 14 day Hawaii cruise. Has anyone done this before, and if so, what kind of a hassle is parking there?  They said it is a 10 minute shuttle ride from Convention Center to pier. How safe will our car be there?  I’m having no luck finding hotels that have park and cruise to Long Beach.  I found one but only good for 7 days of parking. There are many hotels with park and cruise for San Pedro pier. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd start by calling the Hotel Maya DoubleTree and see if you can do a 14 day park & cruise.

How safe is your car any place you park it for 14 days? I doubt the Convention Center is any more or less safe than the Carnival stack lot.

I guess my question is, how does Carnival stop you from parking in the stack lot? Do they say use the CC Lot because they think there will not be enough room because of other cruises?
