Tips for Tanjungpinang, Pulau Bintan, Indonesia and Kuantan (Tanjong Gelang), Malaysia

I am on the Westerdam Feb 3 cruise.  It recently had a change in itinerary and has added 2 ports Tanjungpinang, Pulau Bintan, Indonesia and Kuantan (Tanjong Gelang), Malaysia.  I haven't been able to find out much for those ports.

 

For Kuantan, I might just go to the Teluk Chempedak beach.   I would hope I could get a cab at the port.    Or it looks like there is a bus going into Pekan.  Any experience on taking this into town?
