Itinerary includes overnight in Rome. it is allowable to stay overnight somewhere off ship?

We would like to save the 3 hours of commuting time and spend more time actually touring the sites.  Do we have to reboard the ship when the itinerary includes an overnight?

We've done it at other ports... should be possible.

Give the front desk the name and address of your hotel.  Let your cabin steward know you will not return until the next day.

I’ve overnighted quite a few times at various ports and there has never been any restriction on when you can get on or off. Absolutely no reason why you would need to return and, given the distance, I suspect there will be quite a few people doing the same thing.

 

Accommodation in Rome is expensive though, but I suspect you knew that already.
