Lforlisa Posted March 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2006 Our son will be 15 while we are in the Bahamas in July. Can someone tell me if there is an age requirement for him to drive or be a passenger? Thanks in advance!!
OPSoccermom Posted March 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2006 For RCI jetski tours, driver has to be 16 and have proof of age. he will be fine as a passenger. My kids get honked everytime they see that RCI commercial that shows the 13-ish girl driving away on a jetski in Labadee. Seems misleading to entice them. The jetskis appeal to the 13 to 15 year age boys more than anything else at Labadee. If you are in Nassau, you will be able to rent jetskis on Cable Beach and on Blackbeard's Island, which is a private beach often used as the destination for the "beach break" excursions. They will not enforce the same age limits. Just be careful - riding a jetski on ocean waters is different than on a lake. My son was 14 in Nassau, and when the operator realized he handled a jet ski well, he let him cross the expanse of water between Blackbeard's Island and Cable Beach on his own with the operator riding alongside on his own ski.. DS said it was a blast.
