randykaye Posted May 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We are plannin on taking some of our own alcohol with us on our Celebration Cruise on july 26. As far as beer goes, do most people take bottles or cans when they sneak it on. Does carnival serve both on the ship or will it be obvious we brought our own? just wondering? also, I am taking malibu rum for me, any suggestions as what to bring that would be easy to take to mix it with? I usually mix with pineapple & orange juice. Thanks for all your help!
thebird Posted May 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2004 RANDYKAYE.. They only give you glass bottles of beer in one of the bars or lounges 'inside' the ship. By the pool, they pour your beer into a plastic cup (safety reasons). I bought some 'nalgene' (hard plastic(it seems), and doesn't pick up any odors or colors). It's 'supposed' to be for water, I guess, but you can pour anything you want in them. (mine was a dark blue, so couldn't see exact color of contents). I drink Malibu Rum, too, but on the rocks, so can't help you with that one. Sensation 5/15/2004 Days til Valor Vampires Cruise
imatarb Posted May 26, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2004 I would imagine cans are easier, but as long as either one is safely packed, I'm sure they will be fine. My bottles of Jack Daniels and Malibu Rum made it just fine! Juliah67 Posted May 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2004 It's funny how no one freaks out about sneaking alcohol onboard but if you post that someone wore shorts in the dining room all hell breaks loose! LOL. I'm all for BYOB btw. Love, Juliah
bigmacfan Posted May 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We are taking Miller Lite plastic bottles this time, but have taken cans in the past without problem. Just thought we would give the plastic bottles a try. Sovereign of the Seas 06/00 Inspiration 06/02 Carnival Conquest 06/03 Carnival Conquest 05/04 Until the Conquest sails!!!!! KnATL Posted May 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Yes on the plastic miller light bottles, that's what Carnival sells at the bar by the bucket, so you can walk around the ship with your own and nobody knows!!

jfritz126 Posted May 27, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 27, 2004 When we were on the Mircle a few weeks ago they served Corona in strange looking plastic bottles. I don't know if the Corona is bottled in these or if the servers pour it into them but they looked rather strange! Kenster Posted May 28, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 28, 2004 Randy, we take rum with us also. We either mix it with coke, or mix it with the fruit punch/lemonade/orange juice at the Lido deck buffet to make a pretty good Mai Tai/Rum Punch. dream2much Posted May 28, 2004 #15 Share Posted May 28, 2004 To the original poster...... bottles or cans, it doesn't matter. No glass bottles are served or allowed by the pool area. So, if you plan to spend a lot of time by the pool, pack plastic bottles or cans. Glass long necks are served at the inside lounges, bars, etc. Next Cruise(s).......
