Wheelchair assistance embarkation

DH and I are going on 2 night cruise in August. to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary I have COPD with reduced mobility. Anything over 200 yards and I have to rest then restart 200 more yards etc. I use a mobility scooter or wheelchair when necessary on land. In all our 50+ cruises I have only needed wheelchair assistance on embarkation /debarking as we choose cabin close to lifts etc and keep walking to a minimum.  I have completed and sent in form requesting wheelchair assistance and this has been processed. My TA informs me that  MSC have contacted him to say I might not embarkation assistance as "They are usually busy" so I am concerned that I may be left without help to board. DH has health issues himself and could not push me and we are in a normal cabin so cannot ( and would not want to) take my mobility scooter. Do t he port authority provide the assistance and can I get it through them and if so , how? Any advice would be gratefully accepted.
