Moving from fixed to select on-board

Hello all! Experience X cruiser, but first time traveling with a larger, organized group. Our group has been assigned late seating, but I'm certain a few people would prefer to dine at their leisure- is it possible to just show up at "select dining" and wait for a table to open? My coworker says yes, but I'm not convinced. Thanks in advance!

If you have fixed dining on your cruise docs then you can't just show up at Select.  You can try asking the maitre'd when you board the ship, but I'm not sure if that would even work if you are part of an organized group. You can always ask.  Otherwise, the answer would be no unless you "officially" have your dining time changed to Select.

We were not able to switch from late to my time on my last sailing, but it’s worth checking.
