Valdez Transportation to Downtown/Electric Bike Rental

We are arriving in Valdez, Alaska on the NCL Spirit on August 22, 2023.  I understand that the dock where the ship rests is some distance from downtown.  Does the cruise line normally provide transport to downtown, or is there another easy way to get downtown?  Additionally, we are considering renting electric bikes for the day.  Based on the size of Valdez, is this recommended?  Any assistance is appreciated

It is my understanding that most cruise lines provide shuttle buses to downtown Valdez.  The community itself is compact and easy to navigate on foot.
