Great service from MSC!

I thought status match was only from other cruise lines. We tend to sail a couple times per year and vary cruise lines so have never worked on status. But, I recently read about match to alternative programs.  My Marriott platinum status only came over as silver, but the march was processed in only a few days.  We sail next week.  I called MSC to have our new voyager numbers added to the booking and ask about the $50 OBC for silver status.  That does not apply because of my short booking time from sail date. But he proactively offered the 5% discount in the form of OBC- what a nice surprise!  I received my new ticket in minutes with the OBC. 
 

I submitted my husband’s Hilton Diamond status to see how that matches and if it does so pre-cruise. The latest chart I could find showed that to match  to MSC Diamond but I’m skeptical…

 

the entire process was super easy from online application, quick turn around and great service from the call!

Glad you received fast service. It isn’t always that way with MSC. I received a Diamond match to Hilton Honors Diamond last year. Others have reported being matched to Gold on MSC. It seems to be luck of the draw as to who processes the request for the match.

Super surprises marriott platinum matched to silver and Hilton diamond matched to Diamond-both are exact same in program levels.  Crazy!

I’ve learned to never be surprised with anything with MSC, lol.
