We are new to NCL and received 1 free Specialty Dining.

Can someone explain how that works? Is there a certain amount you can spend? I look at the menus and prices and am just a little unclear how it works! Greatly appreciate any and all help!

IN WHICH VENUES WILL MY SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE BE HONORED?

Specialty Dining Packages are honored in the following restaurants: American Diner, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Food Republic, Italian, Le Bistro, Los Lobos, Moderno Churrascaria, Pincho Tapas Bar, Q Texas Smokehouse, Raw Bar, Seafood, Sushi and Teppanyaki.

Guests may also dine in select entertainment-based restaurants using their SDP meal.

An SDP meal in a la carte restaurants includes 1 appetizer, 1 soup or salad, 1 main course and 1 dessert (does not apply to cover charge restaurants or Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar and Sushi, where a meal includes any 4 menu items). SDP does not include beverages and additional and/or premium menu items will incur charges.

How would the dining package work in Food Republic since there are no clear appetizer, soup or salad, main course and dessert?

As @Two Wheels Only noted, you can get any 4 menu items there.  Our experience has been that as a couple, we will only use 1 specialty meal there and "IF" we want more, we order additional items a la carte.   Depending on the day, and what/when we ate earlier, Food Republic is a great place for a lighter dinner where everything is shared.
