kabado Posted March 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2006 Has anybody heard the results of the autopsy of the Monarch captain that died on the ship in late January? We were on that cruise and we haven't heard what happened. I can't believe it was a heart attack like some people speculated because he didn't show up at the Captain's dinner nor at any of the other events, so he had to be sick for almost the entire cruise. Aprille Posted March 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2006 Hi, Karen! :) I didn't realize you were on this cruise. I haven't heard/read anything but I'll bump this back up in hopes that someone has some information. ETA: Just noticed you have Rhapsody in your sig for this December. Are you really going? We backed out because I didn't get much interest with my reunion idea. :( So we're going back to Alaska instead. :) I definitely want to do Rhapsody again sometime in the future though. rubrrick Posted March 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2006 Just having returned from a week on the Monarch, and having several conversations with both the captain and other officiers aboard, the unofficial word aboard is that no one knows the reason for Jorns death. He was not feeling that well for the cruise, so he kept himself to the bridge and crews quarters letting Lis (the Staff Captain) make public appearances. Of course, it was a shock to everyone that he had died in his quarters. He was very close to some of the other officiers, and they would just like to get past the event. My only advice would be for future cruisers, to not bring the subject up. Rick
