Freeport shuttle or taxi to Port Lucaya?

I have heard others mention taxis to Lighthouse Pointe Resort at Port Lucaya cost around $30-40 round trip but a shuttle is like $7?  Can anyone shed light on this?  Haven’t been to Freeport in over 5 years and no knowledge of how to negotiate a round trip taxi (will the same taxi pick up at required time?) and is there a shuttle that goes that far, do you schedule it or is it like public transportation?  Thanks for any info!   There will be 6 of us in our group!

Hi, The wife and I went to Port Lucaya in February. We paid I think $30 for both of us round trip for a van full of people. Took maybe 30 minutes. They give you a ticket when you get dropped off and tell you where to meet. I believe it was every 30 minutes they went back to the port. If you have been before prepare to be disappointed. Port Lucaya has not yet recovered from Hurricane Dorian. Over half the shops were shuttered, the Casino and Grand Lucayan are shut down. We didn't look for beach access. We just wanted to walk around the Straw Market. We did eat at the Greek restaurant there but the 2 Italian places appeared to be shut down as well. All in all I felt horrible for the people. It has lost it's appeal. Unesco is still open if you are wishing to do Dolphin or diving.

Oh no, we have resort passes to Lighthouse Pointe Resort.  I hope it is better by the time we arrive in October.  I loved that area when i visited years ago and I hope they are able to recover.

Has anyone recently done this Resort For a Day ?

 I’m curious if it’s worthwhile.  Also curious about the taxi service or shuttle service.
