new2cruise Posted May 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2023 We will be arriving at Terminal M (Air Canada) at YVR and need to get to the Auberge Vancouver Hotel at 87 West Hastings St. near Canada Place. I have lots of questions as to using Skytrain: 1. How far is it from Terminal M to the Skytrain station? 2. How often does it run? 3. Where is the station that we will get off? Thank you! dawnvip Posted May 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2023 There is no terminal M at YVR, unless maybe referring to "Main" as opposed to "South" terminal?? If you are flying from the USA or international, you will arrive at an "E" gate. Follow the crowds to baggage carosels, collect your bags and go through customs. Once outside customs, go up one level (There are elevators and escalators right outside customs) and past the food court, and international check in counters. On your left will be signs for the skytrain, up another escalator and out the door. Its about a 3 minute walk once you're up the escalator. Skytrains run every 6 - 8 minutes and it takes about 25 min to get all the way downtown. You will want to get off at Waterfront station. Outside the station, on Cordoba Street, hang a right and walk 1 block to Howe, turn left onto Howe and walk 1 block to Hastings. Turn right onto Hastings and halfway down the block will be the Auberge.

Rare martincath Posted May 13, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2023 (edited) While Dawn's maps are quite correct, for Auberge you can reduce your walk by a whole block and avoid the hill by simply using the other egress from Waterfront at the back of the train as you roll towards town. It's pretty clearly seen here on the Accessible Map of the station interior - and then using Streetview you can see where the elevator pops up on street level right at the corner of Hastings & Granville (the larger glass-sided building with the big T on it is where the escalators come up, the small boxy one to the right of the screen is the elevator). Ride time is very consistent - but frequency does vary considerably. If you have an evening flight, it drops as low as every 20mins - with even 3 people having to pay the AddFares you still save money compared to a cab but less and less per extra person over the first until at 4, if you all fit with your bags the cabs are almost the same price as the train... while we're big proponents of SkyTrain, late at night after a long flight we do tend to succumb to the lure of the fixed price cab ($34 to Auberge like most of downtown) even with just two of us, as the lack of traffic means a door-to-door trip that's just as quick. Daytime though, with better frequency, not already jet-lagged, train is great for getting a bit of a leg-stretch in on the extra walk! em-sk Posted May 27, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2023 The only thing I would add is frequently on air line reservations I have seen Terminal M show up and yes that is the Main terminal as others have stated. When you exist customs you can go upstairs in the terminal as posted above. Or you can head outside, walk past the line up of taxi and the line up of busses and access the street are escalators that will take you up to the skytrain. Most of the signage in the terminal I believe say something like "Train to City" . Either option will get you there.
