I used it last year. It worked very well. 

If it is convenient for you, depends on were you want to go in Rome.

The bus stop in Rome at Via Crescenzio is relatively close to the Vatican, Prati, castel Sant'Angelo and some parts of the city centre. 

The second stop is stazione termini yet obviously you can get there by train, too.

We are thinking of using it from the port to Rome.  It seems very reasonable at only 16 euros.
