Norwegian Encore Haven thermal spa suite

Very excited for an Alaska cruise in August.  We have booked a Haven thermal spa suite 15862.  The haven sounds like a wonderful experience.  Please share any experiences regarding the suite being outside of the Haven proper.  What will we miss out on by not being inside the Haven proper?

 

A forward facing penthouse (still outside Haven proper but just below it)  is available for the same price and I assume I could  switch rooms easily.  We are not tied to the idea of the spa and will enjoy either suite.  Any preferences?

Your choices are spa access or (if you move) a larger stateroom.

 

Do you know which forward-facing stateroom is available? If it is on deck 13, the balcony is partially enclosed. If it is 13106, it is a wheelchair accessible stateroom that is one large room and a large bathroom (no separate living room).

We were on the Encore this January and the Encore Thermal Spa is wonderful.  Unless you desperately wish to have a Haven Suite that has a separate living area (Forward Facing has that) then I would stick with the Haven Spa Suite and make use of the Thermal Spa throughout your cruise.
