For anyone who has been on a Beyond itinerary that included a stop at Galataport in Istanbul, which side was docked at pier?

We had a similar cruise last summer with Reflection.  A good note is that ships are typically docked bow against the current.  Look at marinetraffic site when Beyond is there next time ( 10 th of June).

Great intel, and I'll do so. This makes sense.

I'm figuring out what I'll be viewing from my balcony on the overnight at that port.

Was just there last week on Beyond.  Starboard side was to the dock, port side to harbor.  We usually slept with the Veranda window open but there was significant "party boat" traffic playing music late into the night from our port-side cabin.  The Galataport was an impressive place - all underground with room for 70 excursion buses.

if you have an aft cabin you will have great view of Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Straights.

Port side land view & Galata Tower.

Starboard view is Bosphorus Straights and far coast is Asia.

We love Istanbul!

Pinebro, if port side was land view on your sailing, then it would be docked opposite of how undrwtr1 depicted in prior post (docked starboard).

Were you on the Beyond when it docked port side?

TY. I've reviewed videos of Galataport and it and looks quite impressive.

I had to pick one side of the ship or the other, thinking of what views will be at various ports, Santorini among them.

Went with starboard for Santorini, but would have been nice to have the Bosphorus view for the overnight. Ok, next cruise. 😄

Celerycruiser had key answer - water current direction into bow. Notice the graphic he posted.
Every stop we have made there, portside to dock.

Yes, and makes sense.

Only reason I asked was based upon undrwtr1's comment.

Appreciate it.
