JSeals4316 Posted March 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2006 About what time does boarding start in San Juan? On the Aruba itinerary, which is the best night to go to Portafinos? What have you had there that you really liked?
gkrebs Posted March 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2006 We started boarding at 11:00 on the Adventurer and 12:00 on Dawn Princess. So naywere in ther your good. If you dont make it by 12:00. Wait until later in the day. Just give your luggage to the porter at the prot then go on over and tour old San Juan. Its a great way to spend an afternoon. aggiejeff Posted March 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2006 My plane lands at 3:30. Does that give me plenty of time for the 10 pm departure?
LarryF Posted March 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2006 You will have plenty of time to get to the ship. It's about a 20 minute ride from the airport to the port. If you want to get there faster, I would recommend you to take a taxi (about $20) rather than RCCL's bus.

Fang Posted March 14, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2006 I agree, do not take the bus, grab a taxi, much faster. Also, this may be a really stupid question, but everytime we have gotten on the ship in San Juan our cabin was already for us to put our carry on things in. This time we will probably get on the ship before our cabin is ready. Do people drag their carry on bags through the ship? Is there a place to put them before the cabin is ready? LarryF Posted March 14, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2006 Last year we sailed the Golden Princess out of San Juan and were on the ship by 11am. Suposedly the room was not going to ready until 1pm, but we went by the room and it was ready. So we dropped our bags and no problems. Hope it works that way on the Serenade this year, it will probably be close to 1pm before we board this year.
Broach Posted March 15, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2006 Was on the Adventure this past February and we didn't start boarding until 11:45. It depends how fast they get off the previous passengers. On the Serenade we were on the ship by 11am. Enjoy your cruise you will love it. Make sure you were lots of sunscreen the sun is extremely hot and you will burn very easily. Even though the cabin isn't ready, most room attendants will have no problem with you throwing the bag in the room. Just make sure you tell them you're doing it or attach a note, so they don't think the departing passengers left them behind.
