MSC Meraviligia YC luggage drop off

I will be sailing twice on her this year, both in YC.  I have yet to find or get this answered.  Can you pull up to the YC tent in your car and drop your luggage off then go park.  I have read that people park then drag luggage to tent.  I have carry ons and luggage which will make it difficult, and wife has mobility issues.  Every cruise I have been on, I pull up drop luggage to porter and then go park. Anyone with experience please help.  Thanks.

Yes.

You can do that, too.

I've done both.

I got a little intimidated in the moment not wanting to double park and drove past tent when I was on solo in April. I only had one bag so just parked and walked it over. But, when I go next time with my family I will wait and unload at or near the tent. The spots there are long, to accommodate vans/buses or really two regular vehicles. I circled the area on the map attached.

This is best so you get supposedly priority luggage handling but if you end up with the regular porters I don’t think it’s the end of the world either.

If you give your luggage to the standard porters, they are supposed to take it to the Yacht Club tent section once you tell them that you are sailing Yacht Club. This happened to us once in Miami when the port police had blocked part of the loading/unloading area.

YMMV, May 28th sailing, that was when the ship arrived late, I just gave my bags to a porter, did not go to the YC Tent, large mass of people I had to walk around with uniformed security telling me to use certain crosswalks instead of the one in front of me.

My bags were in my YC cabin before I was so it was no big deal. Had lunch as the YC staff was saying due to the late arrival cabins were not ready and then was escorted to my cabin when lunch was finished, bags were there. That said another person's experience might differ.

Good to know. Thanks! I am sure by the time our October cruise comes, the staff will be a lot more familiar than they were for the inaugural from NY. Even then, things moved pretty well.
