RC has gone to once a day cabin service, following NCL.  I expect that Carnival will follow soon.

 

There are never wine glasses in your cabin, unless you also  have wine delivered.  As you found out, when you ask, you get.  (you could also have picked some up at any bar)

 

You are not going to get ice unless you ask for ice.
