We are docking in Valencia in October on a Marella cruise and are thinking of using the hoho bus to get around.  Does anyone know how far the bus stop is from the port and which number stop it is.  Is it walkable from the ship to the bus stop and should we buy tickets before we go.   Thanks.

There is more than one route for the HOHO so you should read about it to help you decide.   Try googling something like "Valencia HOHO routes". to find the info. But, will you actually need it?

Valencia is a really easy DIY day and is a" flat"city so easy on the feet. The historic area is quite compact, so once in the centre (local bus from port) easy walking around.  The modern, futuristic area is separate but also easily reached by public bus from the port, although in a different direction.  You could eg buy a day ticket and bus to the futuristic area then walk or bus from there to the historic centre or vice versa. We have only visited twice. We took a public bus from the port to the centre of town (the big placa beside the Town Hall which is a sort of transport hub ) and explored on foot from there, returning later in the day on a different bus route from beside a tower at  the opposite end of the historic centre.

The official Valencia Tourist Info website is most useful and there are many others with suggestions, including Tripadvisor, and you could bring up all previous Valencia threads and replies by using the SEARCH facility, then reading them and picking up a little  info that way.

I recommend you look at two websites to start you off.  visitvalencia (the official one) and valencia city guide. The former has suggested walks around the city with information, public transport info and much more, the latter has HOHO routes and bus routes.  the more you dip into the sites the more info you will find and between them you should find everything you need to plan your time in this interesting city as it has a lot to offer the visitor. In Valencia i would highly recommend you explore on foot rather than from a HOHO which won't actually be able to enter some of the pedestrianised streets in the historic centre.

To find past threads here on CC, go to the general Spain Ports forum (not an individual thread) and insert the word VALENCIA into the empty search box under your username, hit the little spy glass, and within a few seconds all previous threads will appear ready for you to choose which to read.
