Grand Princess New Waves snorkel or Ecological Tours?

Going on Grand Princess, want to do some type of snorkel trip. Trying to decide between - New Waves Snorkel to Rendevous Caye (through Princess) or independent Ecological Tours - Shark Ray Alley Snorkel & Caye Caulker Beach.

Leaning towards Eco but if they do not have enough people that day, I have heard they might cancel. want to know we have a trip planned, especially after paying them a deposit.

Has anyone enjoyed Princess offered snorkel tours and can offer advice? or Ecological tours? any other snorkel trip ideas?

Thanks!!

  • 2 weeks later...

We just used Ecological Tours last week March 21. We snorkeled first and did not see many fish, but there was a lot of current and was really windy.

Some of our group had to get back in the boat because the water and current was so rough. Even with a life jacket on it was hard to stay up with the guides because it was so tiring.

Then we moved over to the stingrays it was really awsome. You could not harldly put your feet down without stepping on one. I got to hold one, it was pretty exciting. We did not see any nurse sharks or eels but they looked for them.

Then we went to Caye Cauker Island. It was so pretty and peacful there.

No cars allowed, golfcarts and bicycles only. There was not enough room for us at the resturant where everyone else was eating so we walked down the road and ate at a little resturant and it was not very good, we threw most of our food away.

Overall we enjoyed our trip with them and would use them again if needed.

There were nine in our group and before we left there was about thirty of us. We had 10 people in each group with a guide for each group.
