Hobar Posted September 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2023 (edited) Will be in Neptune Suite with my mom who has mobility issues. Can we have the coffee table and two chairs removed from our suite? Edited September 8, 2023 by Hobar
Rare POA1 Posted September 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2023 Your best bet would be to call your TA or PCC. The department that deals with accessibility should know what to do. 1
fflyer Posted September 8, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2023 The chairs can easily be placed into the desk areas, I do it all the time since we do not need them..
Rare 0106 Posted September 8, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2023 We were in a Signature Suite on the Oosterdam. My husband kept bumping into the coffee table when he got up during the night. We asked our cabin steward if it could be removed and he kindly removed it,
Rare WriterOnDeck Posted September 8, 2023 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2023 It might depend on which ship you are on. The older smaller ships have lots more behind-the-scenes storage than the new ones. It was much appreciated by those on the Amsterdam world voyages. But on this year's world voyage, moved to the Zuiderdam, we were told there was no storage available beyond your stateroom. That being said, the fact that you are in a Neptune Suite could help. Once you are aboard, if you discover you need something removed, I would start with the Neptune Suite concierge. Good luck! 1

Kongingsdam, 😞 but @POA1 suggests I contact accessibility and since this would be a "reasonable accommodation," I suspect HAL will find the room. I just never asked before as I never needed it before. It will be nice to have this done before boarding. Thanks to all the posters here who responded.
Hobar Posted September 23, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted September 23, 2023 (edited) Update - I completed and submitted the Accessibility Form and within two days received an email response from Seattle acknowledging the request and informing me the items would be removed before our embarkation. I was sincerely grateful to receive a response since it was merely a form that included a note. Edited September 23, 2023 by Hobar
landlocked12 Posted October 6, 2023 #8 Share Posted October 6, 2023 We were recently in an accessible signature suite on the Oosterdam. Our coffee table wasn’t just a tripping hazard but prevented my mom from moving around the cabin. The steward said that he could only move it out onto the balcony. Fortunately it was a bump out cabin, so the balcony had some a little extra space otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to use it.
