Rare laudergayle Posted September 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2023 We are cruising 5/13-20 NCL Jewel Vancouver to Seward. I have read that each cruise line charters a certain number of cars on the Alaska Railway train on disembarkation day. I couldn’t find any opportunity to purchase this on NCL…so I called the excursion desk. I was told it wouldn’t be available until 50 days out. So for any NCL folks wondering…there is your answer. And I believe you can use your excursion credit.

In fact, the cruise lines charter an entire train from the Alaska Railroad. The railroad then operates its own train separately, at different times and using different terminal stations. The two trains have different types of passenger cars and services. But the same route is used by both the chartered train and the regular train.
