nikoo.s Posted October 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Hello! Anyone know if MSC run a shuttle from Zebrugge port to Bruges, without having to book an excursion, and how much it is? Or is there an easier / cheaper way to get there, eg uber, train, taxi etc? Just trying to plan ahead if we need to book anything. Last Northern Europe cruise we did skipped this port! Thank you 🙂

Thank you 🙂 Two years ago there were buses right by the port that ran back and forth to Bruges. Can't remember how much, but I believe it was around $5 ea. It was perfect.

No, the MSC shuttles run to Blankenberge, not Brugge. There is a public bus from opposite the port at the church, but it is running not too often. If you want to use it, you have to make a plan with the schedule.
Stokie33 Posted October 20, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2023 Our cruise last month on Virtuosa had this port added to bad weather in Cork, the shuttle bus provided only took you to the port gates with big queues for both the tram and the independent bus trip, we didn’t bother to get off so not sure about prices
perakcruiser Posted October 20, 2023 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2023 The day pass for bus and tram is 5 or 6 €. Not valid for the train. It is available at the SPAR supermarket opposite the chuch/bus station.
Rare insidecabin Posted October 20, 2023 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2023 Outside the port is a private shuttle service. Various prices depending where you look or book as a walk up. Check other places like Viator. https://www.cruise-express.be/en/home A few mins walk is the tram stop(kerk, tickets from Spar) tram to Blankenburge then bus(included in day ticket) or train. Also a bus stop for early 8:15 ish bus a day to bruges (Google maps bus 47) There are 2 train stations in Zeebrugge(dorp, strand) longer walk with faster trains to Bruges. Google maps directions is good to get an idea of times and frequency. The bus/train stops in Bruges are quite a walk to the center.

If the shuttle outside the port and tram(every 15mins) are too busy a walk to the train station is the other option very few do it.
Stokie33 Posted October 20, 2023 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2023 I’ve always found that people on cruises tend to talk to each and let others know of any issues, plus you could see the queues waiting for the port shuttle which were horrendous, from the ship. We’ve been to Zeebrugge loads and never seen queues like this, I know it was an unscheduled stop but the change was made Monday for us to be in port Friday.
