Is the last night ever a "formal night"?

I'm leaving in two weeks on my first 6 day cruise. I'm told there are two formal nights. The first one is the first sea day. Would the cruise line have a formal night on our second sea day (the last day when luggage has to be out in the hall by 11) or will it be one of our port days?

It will NOT be on the very last day. They assume that everyone has packed their formal wear away, so it will be on a port day.

Have been on a couple of 7 night cruises and the formal nights have been on our "at sea days". Never on the last night of the cruise.

I've never heard of the last night being a formal night. The second formal night will be one of the 'port' days.

Never happened on any of our cruises, and have never heard of it happening from anybody else on the boards. Really wouldn't make sense, seeing that everyone has to pack on the last night. We always pack before dinner, so as to enjoy our last night on the ship as much as possible.

Great, thanks for the responses. Now i can quit worrying about how to pack an evening dress and tux in our carry-ons for the trip home!
