daveo6313 Posted November 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2023 I have a $1000 in OBC on my upcoming cruise and I would like to use $500 or so in the casino. I usually only play the table games. I remember reading somewhere you can get chips charged to your room and you can use your credit that way buy they charge you 3%. I also remember reading they only let you cash out winnings, is this true and how would that work with chips? DaveO
mz-s Posted November 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2023 You can try just going to the Sail and Sign kiosk and see if it will let you withdraw cash against your OBC balance. Next step would be drawing money out of your OBC balance at a slot machine. Then take your S&S card up to the table and tell them you want chips for what's in your player bank. ElGatoUSF Posted November 8, 2023 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2023 3% only applies if you take money out at the table. If you use a slot machine to 'charge to your card' the $500 then go to casino cage and 'cash out your balance', you can get around the extra fee. OBC is different from Casino Credit or 'free play'. Free play must be played...you have free play $100, you must play at minimum $100 total to use all the free play. Any money won using free play is yours to cash out, even if you haven't played the full 100 (or whatever you start with on a machine), but the free play will stay on the machine as unused credits. OBC credit is yours, without playing a thing...if you like it like that

You can’t withdraw cash against your OBC balance. The closest you can do is go to Cherry on Top and buy a Carnival gift card using your OBC, which can then be used anywhere on the ship as cash equivalent. I always thought the same but then I had someone tell me here they were able to do it so I mentioned it in case it's something new I was unaware of. Cinnamon2 Posted November 9, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2023 Last cruise I had lots of OBC. I bought $100 worth of chips at the Roulette table several times and they did charge me $3 each time. It was worth it though as I was in a lucky streak and brought home some of their money.
