It happened to me and my DH on our cruise on Princess to Alaska. Al never got thru the first course of dinner on formal night. I ate alone. he was sick as a dog all evening. I got it in the morning and slept until noon. Very queezy, never actually threw up though. Thankfully it was all over by dinner the next night. Not fun! AND we didn't lick any railings or doorknobs.....as I recall............

If the formal night was the 2nd night (like RCI) there's a very good chance whatever he had, he contracted before getting on the ship.
