beeandkmon Posted January 6 #1 Share Posted January 6 The epic is only in st. Thomas from 6am- 2 pm. We’d love to snorkel but a lot of trips I’ve found don’t leave until 10am. We always prefer to book on our own as we hate crowds. We don’t have our own snorkeling equipment and with such a short time I don’t know if I want to do the ferry on our own. Any recommendations for tours that leave early in the morning?
Ms411 Posted January 6 #2 Share Posted January 6 Private tours should be able to accommodate. Are you cruising solo?
Threeplusone Posted January 6 #3 Share Posted January 6 Looks like we are on same cruise with same issue. Found a snorkel trip that leaves out of sapphire beach at 9am and is three hours. Through viator. Lmk if you need more info to find it.

We snorkelered and saw turtles, stingrays, sea urchins, starfish, so much marine life. We had a ton of fun and they do offer to take photos of you during the snorkeling. We opted to do that and it was $40 and we got over 60 photos!! We were a family of 4 and a other couple. BTW are you on Norwegian coming up? Ms411 Posted January 12 #6 Share Posted January 12 Beeandkmon, I hope you reserved. They fill up quickly because the groups are small and you're only on island for one day.
ishap Posted January 13 #7 Share Posted January 13 Are their tours all just snorkeling from the beach?
Ms411 Posted January 13 #8 Share Posted January 13 Ishap, are you referring to St Thomas Adventures? They have tours that include kayaking and snorkeling. Other companies offer boat plus snorkeling, but most of those go to same spot as the others.

Do you know where the tour goes? If you book directly on their website, they will pick you up at the port. If you book on your own (example tr*p adv!sor, v!at0r) you would need to cab it to the resort where your guide will meet you. The resort is Emerald Beach Resort, which you can use the facilities, wifi etc, if you wish. The cab ride is less than 5 minutes. ($6 pp per way). The 'secret beach' you go to is Brewers Bay Beach. There are change rooms and shower facilities there. (we used the resort to change while we waited for our guide). You will see a ton of sea life, octopus, turtles, star fish, sting rays, sea urchins, so much more! There were only 6 of us, so it was nice to be in a smaller group. Our guide brought us quite a distant out and he would swim to the bottom and bring up start fish, or conch shells with baby octopus inside them. They also charge $40 for digital photos if you wish. Once we got home, we received well over 75 images of us and the sea life in the images.

Yes you will see some stuff, but the coral and such it would be over your head. There was one gentleman in our group that wasn't a fan of the water and he just stayed near shore. I don't know if you would see the turtles, sting rays etc just by standing in the water. They do provide life vests, and the guide is always ensuring everyone's safety. If you are not a fan of the water, and want to see sea life, you are best to go to Coral World. It's on the other side of the island and is a little sea aquarium.
