Pearl Island Review

:) Well it feels so awful to be back after our wonderful week aboard the Norwegian Spirit. Before leaving, I looked into and posted many threads on this board trying to figure out which snorkeling excursion to choose in Nassau. With the help of ScubaGirl (thanks!!) we decided on the Pearl Island Treasure Hunt and were not disapointed.

We were whisked off from the Nasau marina last wednesday on our vogage to pearl harbour. It took about 30 minutes to get there. Pearl Island in itself is a tiny beautiful island. The waters were amazing. This excursion was everything we wanted and more starting with the staff. Our leader T.J was awesome. He was so friendly, welcoming and of course hilarious. OUr tour started when we pulled up to Pearl Island and saw many of the staff members do tricks for us into the water. When we first got there TJ welcomed us, gave us a tour of the island and gave us some yummy pearl island rum punch (very strong with free refills all day)...we then got a short safety lesson, picked up our snorkeling gear and were led to the area. Non-swimmers were escorted by members of staff into the water and safety was very important. The only thing was that i was unaware the "Treasures" (conch shells and oysters) were already placed in the water for our finding. Not a big deal at all but just some info. We found conch shells with a bit of looking but rather easily. After that, they made us a conch salad and we relaxed on the beach. Because we were the only tour there that day, we were aloud to wade into the stingray area and play with the animals. We then had a BBQ lunch before heading back. I would highly recommend this excursion as it was truly a great way to spend a morning!! Thank you to all the Pearl Island Staff!
