Pacific Star circumnavigating Australia?

I just received an email from cruiseabout saying that the Star would be starting a trip around Australian on 3 November 2007. Couldn't see anything on P&O's website. Has anyone else heard anything?

I just read the article on cruise about. Very interesting. Would maybe turn out cheaper for us aussies who want to cruise for longer but can't afford to do world voyage trips! :D I couldn't see anything on the P&O website either

i just read that that press release has been recalled... dont know if this means that the cruise is cancelled or just going to be different dates.

 

It speculates that with the press release being recalled that P&O maybe up to something involving the shuffling of their fleet (also given Pac Sky is leaving soon)

The cruise is scheduled to sail 3 Nov 2007 - 2 Dec 2007.

It will be sailing return from Brisbane.

pommiepom- its always an idea to check the port bookings to see when a ship is due in at different places... ie if you see pacific star due to arrive in adelaide or perth then you can bet its going around oz!

pacific princess usually does the round australia stuff. seems abit unusual for the star to do it.

they never advertise the round australia cruises on the P&O website.

last year when the princess did it there was nothing in any book or online

newbie_sailor_88 - i think you will find that was because the ship was on charter to a certain group of travel agents... hence why it wasnt advertised thru P&O Australia

As a TA, I can advise the cruise is still listed in the P&O agent reservation system and pre registrations are being taken. I will advise when I receive more news.

I have spoken to P&O today as bookings were meant to open to the public today.

Apparently they are doing some itinerary changes and now they do not know when bookings will open.

I am monitoring the situation on a daily basis and will advise as soon as I hear more.
