In my original post I failed to mention that I called the airline in Oct. when we learned the airline we'd be flying on.  I told the rep about the POC and it wouldn't be used on the plane..  She  Consulted with someone and then told me it was OK and I should call 48 hrs.  before the flight to verify with them.  That is when they insisted on forms and a Dr.'s statement..  That was provided via email and at the airport check in.   p.s.  Thank you for all the comments and advice.  I had done some of them and I contacted Elliott advocate.
