Thanks for the suggestion!  Good or bad, will be flying back in a few days so will give that a try!

👍

also you are a Old Fashioned drinker, so another suggestion, MM is good, Woodford too, Bullit Bourbon is good, but these can sweeten the drink more, try for a test, Bullit Rye (not sure if they will have it on board though) or Crown Royal Rye. Now when you get to Vegas, fave spot to eat is Bavettes at the Park, also as it may, best Old Fashions, ask for Garth, tell him Eddie sent you and to make is world famous, he makes his own Simple Syrup and bitters, its fabulous!!!

So much good advice!  I love Makers Old Fashioned and had a few early in the trip…. Just realized I have not had one since too many that one night last week. They do have Bulliet on board.

Will search out Garth next week.

Cheers,

Champagne tasting was a lot of fun. Enjoyed the other participants and the presentation was good. Had a brut, rose, and a 11year old vintage Moet & Chandon. Also an ‘ice’ wine - which was intentionally served over ice.

Learned a new way to open a bottle of bubbly. Thought I had it down, but now I have an excuse to drink some more bottles to perfect the technique.

After going for a standard lunch, decided to order new things for dinner. Asked the waiter (great guy, Robin) for his recommendations

started with a Wedge salad - this was different from the other day with a blue cheese dressing. Realizing that I was kinda hungry, ate it up.

Today is lobster day. I love seafood, but have never been a huge fan of lobster (with the disclaimer that all the lobster 🦞 I’ve tried has been on cruise ships). The waiter promised a ‘double’ portion so I tried it. It was ok…I wouldn’t order it again.

then Baked Alaska for dessert. I really liked this, two photos: how it is served and the inside.

Is that bacon on the lobster? Not a big fan of lobster but always looking for an opportunity to eat some bacon. BTW enjoying following you on your journey and thanks for posting!

Yes. Thin and crunchy, but I thought is helped the lobster flavor.

Woke up this morning slightly hung over…tried to be good yesterday so blame the switch from sparking to red wine. Got my act together after a while and hit the track. Placated myself by deciding to only run ten laps.

Should have been a pretty good run: ship wasn’t moving, very few people out, and comfortable low 70’s temperature. But I guess I like adversity because even with these conditions, just got in the ten laps and was slow - pace over 11 min. But did it!

Some photos from the ship - we are at Coco Cay today.

Freedom next to us again.

Hanging out the wings and fries place, eating the reward for the run and listening to some music.

Relaxing day at Coco Cay. After eating I found a shaded lounger and read/slept for most of the afternoon. The island weather was a lot different than last week.

Woke up at one point and realized that my foot was directly in the sun…it’s not bugging me yet, so hope it’s ok and that I won’t have to deal with a sunburn there!

Various photos from today:

Now packed 😞. Guess I can’t stay here forever!  I am planning a post of random thoughts from the cruise, but didn’t get the chance to do it today. Maybe tomorrow.

Sunset

Dinner. Hamachi Crudu. Had no idea what this was so asked, glad I tried it.

IMG_8288.thumb.jpeg.f9ff3d62601ec1bbfa41a2ef29fff800.jpeg

Next tuna, one of my favorites from last week and enjoyable again.
IMG_8290.thumb.jpeg.daec70b45656a7c22382045932ccc028.jpeg

Finally, Fried rice. As I recalled the serving size of the tuna, wanted something smaller. Waiter threw me for a loop, asking how I wanted my egg…I responded something like, “whatever’s easiest”.

This dish was ok, slightly bland.

I met a family from Pittsburgh earlier this week and going to meet up with them at Vintages this evening.

Just closed down Vintages. Maybe not the smartest thing as I have to be out of my stateroom in eight hours, but fun nonetheless. Had a great time with the guests there and bartenders Roman and Sherwin.

A lot of thoughts about these cruises (favorable), no doubt currently influenced by the wine they served.

More to come tomorrow.

Love the pixs...keep them coming. Also, a side question:  are you getting an AM or PM cabin Attendant visit? Thanks

Thanks!  Both…I think that is a suite benefit. Service has been great.

The ship docked the other way today, next cruisers in my cabin will have the water view. But it looks like rain today.

Last breakfast in CK. Fruit and Benedict. The Hollandaise had more mustard taste than I’m used to, but it was still good.
