Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 7 Author #26 Share Posted February 7 And that's Catalina canceled for tomorrow due to rough enough waves they don't want to chance operating the tenders. I know they were hoping it was going to calm enough with them making the change from today to tomorrow but that's a big ol' nope. They're docking in Ensenada tomorrow and then Thursday will be another sea day. I'm guessing with port fees I'll get back it should cover all my taxes that were charged while in Long Beach. On the plus side, more booze for me! Speaking of, I wanted to give Myron a challenge for a cocktail but all the good stuff I would have wanted takes different liquor then they have available here. So he did do me up a Tiki Bird (as close as you can get without the Golden Tiki's extension range of unique brands) which was really good.
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 7 Author #27 Share Posted February 7 Caught the last of the officer introductions when I came down to the atrium bar to see if Dante was there yet. The stairs certainly are a really nice place to do this. I have to say that is one of the things I've really liked about the Carnival ships I've been on, the open airy atriums with the glass elevators. The only bad thing about them is how loud they get when there are bands in there.
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 7 Author #28 Share Posted February 7 Had a lot of fun at the atrium since while I was waiting on Dante they started the Mowtown Showdown which consisted of two sides of the atrium competing to see who can sing the loudest and a dance off by one person from each side. Our side won, of course. I then checked out the piano bar but the player wasn't the best. So I'm at the Alchemy Bar and Myron made me an old fashioned with a coffee bourbon. I did stop off at my room to grab more tip money and they had these letters for us.
deelightfull Posted February 7 #29 Share Posted February 7 (edited) We're on the Miracle next week with a stop in Catalina. So far the weather looks good, but I have my fingers and toes crossed! Thanks for the interesting updates! Time on the island of Catalina would be nice, but I've been there before. It's more important to me that conditions on deck are such that not EVERYBODY is looking for space in the interior of the ship ALL day. 😁 Did it feel very crowded when the weather was bad? Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 7 Author #31 Share Posted February 7 It was cold but sunny around 8am so I went up to soak in the Serenity hot tub until the rain came. One of the other ladies told me about the sauna so sat in there to warm up for a while. I checked the spa list when coming out and decided to get a pedicure in an hour. Sine the Blue Iguana wasn't opened I hung out at the Red Frog until time for my appointment. While Pam was doing my pedicure she asked if I wanted to do a manicure as well and she'd give me a discount. I figured why not and I was very happy with both and with the discount it was under $100 with the included gratuity. By then the sun was out again so headed to get a Guy's burger and a drink at the now open Blue Iguana. Then the clouds came out so I went and got my jacket which prompted a fellow cruiser to show me his Ghost shirt and tattoo. Now I'm just chilling with my fav bartender and listening to the tunes on the Lido deck.
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 8 Author #32 Share Posted February 8 The ship has sounded its horn and my seat is vibrating so we are moving out of Port. I went and grabbed some of the prosciutto pizza and am back at the Blue Iguana. Dante set me out a water at the same time I asked for an Aperol Spritz so he firmly moves into first place of my fav bartenders on this ship. Lawrence is still #1 overall.

Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 8 Author #35 Share Posted February 8 So Ishaani made me a Campari forward drinkshe called Jamaican ***** which was fantastic and a total sipping drink. Then they invited me to a mixology class at 1pm tomorrow so I have to change my salt scrub time.
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 8 Author #36 Share Posted February 8 Oh, I'm so embarrassed. I've been calling him Myron and it's Myo. As someone who's name is always butchered I hate doing that.
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 8 Author #37 Share Posted February 8 Negroni Myo style. Another sipping drink. The guy in the beer hat asked me if I've been here the entire time. I told him I left and came back and he said "oh yeah, you changed chairs". Reader, I do not remember this man.

Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 8 Author #41 Share Posted February 8 So today started with breakfast from the burrito bar then I had a nice salt scrub. Then it was time for the Alchemy cocktail class I got invited to last night. They made 1 cocktail regular and carbonated the gave us some absinthe. We then paired up and made a cocktail for each other. It was a lot of fun!
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 9 Author #42 Share Posted February 9 I've enjoyed the towel animals left by my room steward. He's been really quick once I leave my room to things all taken care of. Today was this guy:
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 9 Author #43 Share Posted February 9 Yesterday was this guy: And Tuesday was this one: One of the things I like about Carnival is the self serve laundromat. I wouldn't bother on a 3 orc4 day cruise usually but since I am hopping over to another 3 day tomorrow I figured it would be nice to have all my options even though I did pack for seven days. This machine didn't have a card swipe so I took that free wash.

Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 9 Author #47 Share Posted February 9 It's funny Myo and Inaashi were saying this had been one of their best runs with a lot of laid back and appreciative people. They say the 3 days are completely different with different people and there was even a fight at Alchemy last cruise. I find that so interesting.
Rare CoffeeGoddess Posted February 9 Author #48 Share Posted February 9 And that's a wrap for the Carnival portion of my cruise week. I did walk off and it was super easy with the most difficult part being getting an elevator. I will definitely keep this on my list of ships to sail again. Now I'm at the San Pedro port waiting for it to open up since it was so easy getting off the ship.
