SanFranBayCruiser Posted March 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2006 We're going to be in NY visiting family this week so we figured we'd try a cruise to nowhere for the first time on the Dawn. We've cruised many times but, never a cruise to no-where. What can we expect?
shoreguy Posted March 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2006 We're going to be in NY visiting family this week so we figured we'd try a cruise to nowhere for the first time on the Dawn. We've cruised many times but, never a cruise to no-where. What can we expect? Different experience :) 2500 passengers trying to pack 7 days of fun into 22 hours. Restaurants took reservations until 11:30 PM. People eating an early dinner at 5:30 a second one at midnight:D Casino packed, bars full, A Daily jam packed with entertainment options. At lot of folks having never been on a cruise wandering around lost with no idea where they are or what to do next. No a great cruise experience but one heck of a good night out. I have a review on the link below from the one night on the Dawn in Oct. One tip - make dinner reservations the minute you board the ship if you want to eat in a specialty restaurant. Nothing like dinner with the masters in the Dawn Bistro.
SanFranBayCruiser Posted March 23, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted March 23, 2006 Thanks Shoreguy! I see you live in Chester. My brother lived in Randolph for a while and is in Berkeley Heights now :D
Sybird Posted March 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2006 Hi SFBC, I wrote to you often in Sept- thanking you for your great reviews and preps for our Sept 05 sailing on Carnival Liberty. We loved that trip as much as you did. We are sailing the Dawn a fourth time in 3 years. It is a great ship- beautiful & sea worthy. Too bad you will be cheated by trying to fit 12 days(as our upcoming sail) into only 20 plus hours. If you have any specific questions re:the ship. feel free to write. Happy sailing Sy

Happy sailing Sy Actually, this was a last minute decision. We're booked on a 7 day Bermuda/Bahamas cruise on the Dawn for August 12th so this is just like a trial run for us. I'm looking forward to both times! The Dawn looks like a beautiful ship!
