That is great to know.. i will going forward def do that. On the form it asks for TA tel #, what do you put down general platinum tel #?

My recommendation would be to call Amex Travel first, find a competent TA, get their info (name, email, etc.) and cc them on the email of you sending the transfer form to NCL.

My TA gave me a special number that NCL uses to assign the booking to Amex Travel and my TA.

or google: NCL Direct Guest Reservation Transfer

"Bookings may be transferred to a Travel Agent up to 14 days from creation, if the request is made outside of Final Payment period. For new reservations booked within final payment period, that are paid in full, transfer requests can be processed if the request is received within 7 or less days of final payment application."

(I submitted the transfer say day as the booking, took 8 days to go through)

Thanks for all the information, @FFTB!  As for the Amex cruise benefits, I assume that's for platinum only?  I am gold.  I guess I could apply my 100 travel credit at Amex travel as well.

I have it on my Blue Cash (no annual fee card). I've also used the last few NCL and Royal Caribbean offers.

Already bought $1000 in refundable OBC and received an email a few minutes later saying I used the offer. I will get a refund when I'm onboard. I've done it this way a few times.

How do I buy refundable OBC? Do I have to send it to myself as a gift in the add-ons? Also, I should be getting a $100 non-refundable shareholder credit. Aside from the DSC, will they take from the non-refundable $100 first? Ideally, I'd like to get almost all the refundable credit refunded.

Best bet... Prepay your DSCs!  And, pre-purchase OBC directly from NCL online (or call).

You can get the refundable OBC online as a gift to yourself. The max is $500 but you can buy two. I also have the nonrefundable shareholder OBC and usually just burn it on Internet but you can use it on excursions, shopping, etc. It'll automatically take from that first before hitting the refundable OBC.

Thank you, I'll be doing that and prepaying my DSCs TexasGal suggested. And like you said, the $100 is perfect to use on the internet upgrade!

Does someone know if this can be used for buying CruiseFirst?

Onboard Credit can be used for Cruise Next while onboard the ship.

Generally, Cruise First Credits are purchased online, or with NCL via phone or chat (pre-cruise), and then used online, or with a representative or TA.

Also does anyone know if buying OBC, helps reach the threshold spend for these offer? if yes do OBC needed to be added at time of booking or we can do it afterwards on NCL website

I've done this a couple of times in the past. As far as I know you can only buy the OBC after booking and it has triggered the offer. I've bought as much as the max $1000 (2x$500) in refundable OBC and gotten the amount refunded while onboard in cash. They only let you do it towards the end of the cruise. It's basically a gift to yourself when you buy it.

I owe $666 for the remainder of my balance. If I pay that I can put $400 of OBC immediately & trigger offer?

That should work unless something's changed.

As for the CruiseFirst promo, the one that never seems to go away is buy $300 for $150. The $500 one is the one that comes and goes.

I was actually on call with NCL rep trying to buy them to trigger my offer.

Not sure if the Rep was not sure or misinformed. But the rep told me

1. These are non-refundable OBC and wont be cashed out. I can move them to my next cruise

2. I can't use these to pay Daily Service Charge

Can you confirm the process of cashing these out? Do you goto customer service desk and they give you cash or you use casino to cash these out?

This is incorrect. I used it to buy OBC & I did not use it all & it was refunded in cash the last day of the cruise. You CAN use it for tips

I'm reading the Amex offer & it says it can't be used for shore excursions. Does anyone know if that is correct? I needed to spend $84 more to trigger offer so I bought shore excursions. I'll go ahead & get OBC also if I need to before June 1.

What does the charge appear as? If it says Norwegian reservation US like the other charges then it should be ok but hopefully other with first hand experience can confirm.

Good point. It does say NCL reservations like the payment on the cruise & cruise next voucher. I did go ahead & put another $50 OBC on my account just in case.
