chrob Posted March 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2006 We have just been informed by our TA about the change to the last port of call on the above cruise i.e She is now terminating in San Juan instead of Fort Lauderdale. We have flights booked from Miami back to UK on Nov 25th and although TA will cover additional cost of flights from San Juan to Miami- $100 shipboard credit per stateroom (which would equate to 1 bottle of wine per person) does not seem fair compensation for the stress and inconvenience caused. Has anyone been in contact with Celebrity to discuss a better compensation offer? What is the average compensation received when this sort of thing happens after you have booked and arranged connecting flights?
sdcruiser Posted March 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2006 Unfortunately, in your case, there's nothing Celebrity is responsible for since you booked your own airfare independently. All cruiselines follow the same procedure in that they have the right to change itineraries, port of embarkation, or port of disembarkation. This is spelled out in the cruise contract that every passenger receives before they set sail. Be glad that your TA has covered the cost for you for the San Juan to Miami portion. Most TA's I've dealt with would not do this in the States. SDCruiser
