Thoughts on Bliss 3/31 - 4/5

Recommended Posts

We did the Norwegian Bliss pacific coast from LA to Vancouver.  VERY crowded spring break cruise I think someone said 4870 passengers.  Despite the crowds, we had a great time and would highly recommend the Bliss!  My husband and I were in ocean view cabin 5112.  We did things at off times to avoid the crowds.  For example, we never took the elevators during the daytime just used the stairs, but the elevators were fine mornings and late afternoon/evenings.  If we were eating in the buffet, we went early for breakfast (before 😎 and late for lunch (after 130).  We had a shore excursion for San Franscisco, so we were not in the VERY long lines to get off the ship.  Our kids are adults but the lines for the kids' clubs were incredibly long every day.  Did not feel thermal spa was worth it for 4 days (229) but did get a manicure/pedicure first day in the spa.

The food was great!  We ate in Taste for dinner and breakfast, Local was great for breakfast and lunch, American diner for lunch, Food Republic for lunch (got there right as they opened) and our specialty dining was Teppanyaki, Cagneys and Q.  I would say only Q was not worth it.  The servers seemed very understaffed, and we had long waits to get our food everywhere (actually missed seeing Jersey Boys due to slow service at Taste) but they were very friendly and apologetic about the wait.  We cruised Eastern Canada last summer on Holland America and liked that there were way more food options on Norwegian and food was available all the time where on Holland America there were times when everything was closed.

Entertainment was great!  We saw the comedian adult show and the music all around the ship was terrific.  Lots to do all day long.

I would do this cruise again but would either do it not during spring break so less crowded or do a longer cruise to avoid the kids.

Thanks for the review! Taking the Bliss for a 15d trip from LA to Miami via the Canal. It'll be our first time on the Bliss. Do you feel the storage space in the cabin was ample? Thinking we'll take 8 days of clothing and wash mid-week, instead of bringing clothes for 2 weeks-ish. Was the Observation Lounge usually crowded?

I have a review from our PC cruise in December.

Storage was similar to all BA/BA+ ships.  OL is very crowded during transit, not too bad the rest of the time.

3,700 on board vs 4,000 capacity, so wait times and elevator were not bad.

I did a full transit of PC earlier this year.  It was also my first time on Bliss.  I was pleasantly surprised to find a very nice assortment of snacks being offered in the Observation Lounge.  They even served a lite lunch every day ( with was nice to take advantage of when I knew I would be doing a specialty dinner that night).  Lots of seating, lots of off to the side seating with tales to play card/board games.  HUGE bar area ( usually crowded) where you can walk up and order drinks.  I stayed in Haven, but used the regular Observation lounge much more often.

Lots of space in the closet.  There was an area to hang clothes in and I think 4 shelves.  Under the TV there are 2 more shelves.
